The talk of town at the moment, if you’re into politics, is of course about Johor state elections.
Some are for it, others are against it and we know the reasons between the two groups.
I belong to the third group – the result is a foregone conclusion, BN will win big again, like in Malacca.
And, when that happens the clamour to hold the 15th general elections increased once more.
In the end, all talk does not matter. Please speculate all you will, debate on about who the victors will be and how much the losing side will experience.
There is one big difference compared to past elections – issues are almost all for BN and against the others.
There is no 1MDB to talk about. No GST, PTPTN or the toll.
Those are, however, the backdrop to what we are now experiencing throughout the country.
That the group that campaign using the tag ‘inikalilah’ is the one seeing things stack against them.
While those issues were of national importance, local issues also goes against PH and PN.
In fact, it is so pitiful to see the likes of a senior PPBM member calling or challenging BN to name their ‘poster boy’ for the state elections.
The most obvious sign that BN will walk it in this time is the fact that the leader of PPBM himself will not be competing in the state elections.
As a Johorean one would expect him to contest but since he did not or will not, it is one more thing less to worry about for BN.
Couple with members withdrawing from the party, its a huge setback for PPBM.
As for other parties, they can hope but that’s the only thing they can do.
The people has seen disaster after disaster since the last general elections when they voted BN out.
Who to vote in this time is a no brainer.
