Soy and cooking sauce producer Mahsuri Food Sdn Bhd has launched three compact-size products at an affordable price of RM2.10 per bottle in view of the uncertain economic situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Mahsuri Sweet and Spicy soy sauce as well as Sweet and Oyster-flavoured soy sauce have been available in 145 ml bottles at all 44 Ninso Global Sdn Bhd department stores since earlier this month.
Commercial manager Mohd Jazri Ikmal Hijaz said this was an effort to help Malaysians affected by the pandemic, in line with Ninso’s slogan “Cheap at only RM2.10.”
Mahsuri’s products are normally sold in 410 ml to 530 ml bottles.
“There are those who have experienced a salary reduction or lost their jobs or source of income. Therefore, we at Mahsuri decided to launch these affordable variants,” Mohd Jazri told a press conference here today.
According to him, the soy sauce market in Malaysia is worth around RM200 million with three Mahsuri’s products among the biggest sellers.
He expressed hope that more consumers would take the opportunity to try high quality Malaysian-made products which were certified halal by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) at any Ninso outlet.
Mohd Jazri said Mahsuri planned to produce more products according to the needs of Malaysians and would study the market response to these affordable product range.
Meanwhile, Ninso head of purchasing Jerry Tan said the launch of the new Mahsuri products at Ninso was in line with the company’s objective of offering quality products at affordable prices.
Tan said Ninso would open 20 new stores in 2021 following high demand from customers and was prepared to promote Mahsuri products at each of its outlets. — BERNAMA
